Das erste Treffen des Jugendclubs in Ghana
[Dies ist der erste Artikel unserer Jugendgruppenleiterin Justina Entsua-Mensah. Seit Dezember 2006 arbeitet sie ehrenamtlich für African Information Movement in Komenda und trägt maßgeblich zur Gründung des ersten AIM. Youth Club in Ghana bei. Mit ihrem Bericht im AIM. – Blog von AfricaHelp.org möchte sie den Lesern den Jugendclub ein wenig näher vorstellen.

„The First Youth Club Meeting”
“On Saturday, the 10th February 2007, Justina Entsua-Mensah (Youth Club Leader), Joern Preuss (Project Co-ordinator), Eric Sommer (Volunteer), Solomon Appiah (Project Manager) and Papa Kojo Mbir (Chairman of the Ghana Board) met the interested pupils from the various Junior Secondary Schools in Komenda for the first Youth Club meeting.
During the meeting, Justina deliberated into details of the aims and objectives of the Youth Club concept. Eric and Solomon discussed with the members the activities, which are possible to be undertaken by the club. These activities included media works such as newspaper and radio, social activities such as clean-up and weeding campaigns, workshops like bead making, sewing, drumming, singing and dancing, information events like talk on teenage pregnancies and HIV/AIDS, excursions to some places of interest (e.g. Kakum National Park, Cape Coast Castle) and sport activities like football.
The executives invited questions from the members, which we had so much to answer.
A Committee of five volunteers was formed to support the further going of the Youth Club in the mean time to undertake all its activities successfully.
It was planned that the club was going to undertake its first activities, which is a football match on Wednesday, the 14th February (Valentinsday) 2007, at 4 pm. The second Youth Club meeting was scheduled on Saturday, the 17th February 2007.”
